Nara Lokesh Launches AI Training In Visakha Government schools, promoted By Scient Foundation

Scient Foundation’s CSR arm, Scient, has announced the launch of Scient AI Lab for Schools, a transformative initiative designed to train 25,000 students in 50 government high schools in Visakhapatnam over a period of five years. The program was launched on Friday by Minister of Human Resource Development, IT Electronics and Communication Nara Lokesh.

Earlier, he inaugurated the AI lab developed by Scient at Chandrampalem Government High School and interacted with the students. On this occasion, Minister Lokesh appreciated the initiative being taken by Scient to improve the standards of education in schools in Visakhapatnam. A special program designed to develop skills in Artificial Intelligence (AI), STEM and Robotics among underprivileged students.

It will especially enhance basic skills in digital training for students from classes 7 to 10. The initiative will be aligned with India’s National Education Policy 2020, which promotes experiential learning and integrates 21st century technology into mainstream education. Each school will be equipped with a fully functional AI lab.

It will be equipped with computers, IoT-enabled devices, STEM and robotics kits and broadband connectivity. In addition, over 200 teachers will receive structured training for teaching. “CAILS is not just a CSR initiative, it is a commitment to inclusive innovation,” said Dr. BVR Mohan Reddy, founder of Cyient.

“By bringing cutting-edge technology into government school classrooms, we are investing in the aspirations of young minds who will shape India’s digital future. This initiative also reinforces the belief that technology is a big foundation for the future,” he added.

Through hands-on workshops, project-based learning, and innovation challenges, students not only gain technical knowledge, but also learn to apply AI and STEM tools to solve real-world societal problems. The program includes structured monitoring, evaluation, and certification to track and encourage continuous improvement.

CAILS represents a scalable model for AI education and embodies the larger vision of the CAILS Foundation of “Empowering Tomorrow Together” by equipping India’s youth with future-ready skills. Building on CAILS’ strong track record, the Foundation has successfully digitized 120 government schools.

It has trained over 35,000 students with digital literacy. Through its Adopt-a-School initiative, 21,000 children are currently receiving quality education. In addition to education, the Cyient Foundation has also achieved women empowerment and rural development. Every year, over 2,000 rural women are trained for sustainable employment.
