Nara Lokesh- Botsa Sathyanarayana Locked Up In war of words In AP Council

A heated debate took place between the ruling and opposition members during the question hour in the AP Legislative Council on Wednesday. Most notably, an argument took place between YSRCP party leader and leader of opposition Botsa Satyanarayana and Minister Nara Lokesh during a debate on the rationalization of schools.

YSRCP MLC Ravindra Babu alleged that the new education system had been saffronized and said that many things like Hinduism and Hindu Gods had been included. Minister Lokesh expressed his anger over MLC Ravindra Babu’s allegations. He accused the YSRCP leaders of misleading AP.

He said that the YCP members’ behavior in the House was not right. He said that caste and religion should not be brought into the House. He said that his government would give equal importance to caste and religion. He made it clear that everyone knows the importance that YCP leaders have given to God.

Lokesh said that it is not right to say that the syllabus was changed according to saffronisation. He said that politics and religion should not be brought into education and made controversial. Then, Botsa Satyanarayana said that if his words are wrong, they should be removed from the records.

Minister Lokesh welcomed Botsa Satyanarayana’s suggestion to remove these comments. He said that the Central Government has not said anywhere that Hindi should be learned properly. He said that the Center has said that the mother tongue should be encouraged.

Minister Lokesh stated that the Central Government is of the opinion that it would be good if Hindi and other languages are learned along with the local language.

TDP members were incensed that educational standards had completely fallen behind during the previous government’s tenure and that the education system had been brought to a state of decline in the name of ‘Nadu-Nedu’.

Minister Lokesh accused the previous government of being responsible for the decline in the number of students. YSRCP members objected to Minister Lokesh’s comments. Stating that it is not correct to say that 12 lakh students went from government schools to private schools during the previous government, Botsa said that the minister did not know where this figure came from.
