Today marks 75 years since the cinematic debut of legendary actor and cultural icon Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, celebrated for elevating Telugu pride on the global stage. On this occasion, NTR’s daughter, Nara Bhuvaneswari, wife of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu, shared her reflections, describing the day as memorable for NTR’s admirers and Telugu cinema enthusiasts.
In a statement, Bhuvaneswari noted, “On November 24, 1949, my father made his first appearance on the silver screen with the release of Mana Desam. This milestone marks a cinematic diamond jubilee for the world-renowned actor.” She extended her wishes to NTR’s fans and the Telugu community.
She highlighted that NTR played the role of a police sub-inspector in Mana Desam, marking the beginning of not just his career but also a transformative period in Telugu cinema. “My father’s cinematic journey and his exceptional performances fill me with pride, both as his daughter and as a member of the Telugu community,” she remarked.
Reflecting on his portrayal of mythological characters, she said, “It feels as though the gods themselves blessed him to present their divine forms on earth. This may be why the Telugu people regard him as a chosen one.”
To commemorate the occasion, Nara Bhuvaneswari shared a photograph of NTR in his police uniform from Mana Desam, honoring the legacy of a man who shaped an era in Indian cinema.
