Stating that there is a lot of power hidden among women, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s wife Nara Bhuvaneshwari asked to recognize and encourage `Nari Shakti’, women who achieved success.
She was participating at a ‘Nari Shakti’ victory program at Punnami Ghat Babburi Grounds, Vijayawada under the auspices of the State Tourism and Culture Department. She said that Dussehra is the first thing that everyone remembers is Indrakiladri. “We wish the blessings of Goddess Kanakadurgamma to be always on us”, she said.
Bhuvaneshwari said that women are excelling in all fields and the power of women is this nation’s power. She recalled that women are efficiently holding all the positions from Panchayat Sarpanch to President. He said that the efforts of the wives of the IAS and IPS officers along with the political leaders are huge.
She said that the credit goes to her father Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who has recognized the potential of women and brought a law providing them equal rights in property. Moreover, she said that he also started the first women’s university in the country in Tirupati.
It was only to bring the talent of women for the benefit of the society, she said they were given 33 percent reservation in legislative bodies and Dwcra societies are being encouraged.
Moreover, she said that every woman works hard for the family and also children. Bhuvaneshwari suggested that everyone should wear handloom clothes at least one day in a week.
BC Welfare Minister S Savitha said that if NTR works for the empowerment of women, CM Chandrababu is taking it forward as an inspiration. Home Minister Vangalapudi Anita expressed hope that this Shakti Vijayotsavam would be a platform to tell future generations how to respect women. It is a pleasure to celebrate Dussehra with Krishnamma and Durgamma as witnesses, she added.
Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh said that the only creature in this world who can nurture the virtues of motherhood, heroism and bravery is only a woman. He said that women’s rights which were deprived in the past have been restored in their coalition government.
As part of Nari Shakti Vijayotsava program, Bhuvaneshwari presented turmeric and saffron to 9 women who stood bravely in the face of recent flood disasters in Vijayawada.
