Telangana has been greatly affected by recent heavy rains and extensive floods, which have caused distress to thousands of people and farmers alike. Coming to their relief, veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna made a huge announcement of ₹50 lakh to be donated to the affected people. The announcement was made at a felicitation ceremony in Hyderabad, where he was felicitated by the World Book of Records for finishing an amazing 50 years of his acting career.
Speaking about the devastation, Balakrishna pointed out the huge losses incurred by locals in Jagityal and Kamareddy, including heavy crop damage. He referred to his donation as a gesture from the heart and underlined that the donation is purely charitable with no political agenda involved.
The actor also brought to light the development and acceptability of Telugu cinema, requesting the Andhra Pradesh government to invest in improved infrastructure and extend stable support to artists. He asserted with pride that Telugu movies now reach international standards, on par with the Oscars, which depicts the industry’s new rise on the global platform.
Balakrishna also looked back on his year of success, with four straight hit films, receiving the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, and National Award-winning Bhagavanth Kesari. Having wrapped up a 50-year journey in films, he thanked fans and vowed to keep celebrating milestone moments together with them.
