Tollywood star Allu Arjun, who is linked to allegations of a stampede that killed a woman during the release of Pushpa 2 at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad, presented himself before the Nampally court for a hearing on his regular bail petition. The tragic incident had occurred on December 4, prompting the police to file a case and name Allu Arjun as the 11th accused. Nampally court has put him in judicial custody for two weeks following his arrest by the Chikkadpally police.
Allu Arjun, after completing his remand period, filed a petition seeking regular bail. While he was granted interim bail by the High Court earlier, now he is seeking permanent bail from the Nampally court. The police had opposed his release on bail earlier. During today’s proceedings, the Public Prosecutor requested additional time to submit a counter argument to the petition. As such, the Nampally court has postponed the case until Monday. It’s yet to be seen how the government will react to interim bail granted by the High Court.
