Nadendla Manohar says Issuing Rice Cards, As people considering Ration Cards As certificates

Civil Supplies Minister Nadendla Manohar said to the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday that they are issuing rice cards instead of ration cards, as people are considering ration cards as certificates. The minister explained that ration cards are being granted based on eligibility.

He responded to the questions raised by BJP MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju and TDP member Butchaiah Chowdhury on white ration cards in the Legislative Assembly. He said that services related to rice cards have been stopped due to the implementation of e-KYC.

The minister said that the details of those paying income tax have been submitted to the Center only for the e-KYC details of ration cards. The minister explained that out of 1.94 crore ration cards in the state, 4.26 crore people are benefiting from this. The minister revealed that those who own taxis apart from their own vehicles are also eligible to get ration cards.

He said that the matter of deleting the names of members in the ration card for any reason is available with the Joint Collector in each district. Minister Manohar, in response to a question asked by members in the Legislative Assembly, said that anyone who wants to remove names from ration cards can apply to the Joint Collector at any time.

Meanwhile, the government has been preparing to issue new ration cards for some time. An online portal will also be opened to provide the opportunity to change and add names of family members on the cards. Similarly, new ration cards are being brought with a new design.

New ration cards will be issued with a QR code like a credit card. Minister Nadendla had previously said that the arrangements for this have already been completed. This process was supposed to start in February, but it is being delayed due to some reasons.
