Nadendla Manohar Issues Stern Warning To Ration Dealers

In a move aimed at ensuring transparency and accountability in the public distribution system, the Andhra Pradesh coalition government is initiating key reforms in the ration supply process. Civil Supplies Minister Nandendla Manohar is personally leading this mission by conducting surprise inspections across the state.

As part of his rigorous statewide review, the minister visited Eluru on Monday to assess ground-level implementation. During the visit, Manohar issued strict instructions to ration dealers, making it clear that ration distribution must not be stopped under any circumstance.

He responded strongly to reports that some dealers were turning away beneficiaries citing server issues. The minister emphasized that such excuses would not be tolerated. “If servers are down, dealers must take the beneficiary’s photograph and signature, and ensure the ration is delivered without delay,” he said.

Manohar also took a firm stand against negligence in ration supply operations, warning that the government would not hesitate to take action against those who fail to perform their duties responsibly.

Drawing a contrast with the previous regime, the minister criticized the earlier system of delivering rations via Mobile Dispensing Units (MDUs), alleging that the model led to misuse and black-market sales. He reiterated that the current government is committed to a traditional and transparent distribution system that leaves no room for manipulation.

He concluded by underlining the government’s commitment: “Every eligible beneficiary must receive their entitled ration. No excuses, no exceptions.”
