Actor, producer and director Manchu Mohan Babu has approached the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail. As theTelangana High Court has refused to grant him anticipatory bail in the Journalist Attack Case, he has filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court’s decision. The hearing on this will be held on Monday.
He stated in his petition that he is 78 years old and suffering from a heart disease, hence he should be granted anticipatory bail. He is hopeful that he will get a positive verdict from the Apex Court in this regard.
It may be recalled that a news channel journalist has suffered serious injuries due to the attack by Mohan Babu. As a result, the police have registered a case against Mohan Babu on charges of attempted murder. In addition, he violated the court’s orders. The court had issued orders to appear before the police on December 24 last month.
However, he did not comply with those orders. In this order, the High Court denied anticipatory bail to Mohan Babu. With this, he approached the Supreme Court for anticipatory bail. It is known that there have been a series of key developments in the Manchu family recently. Mohan Babu’s younger son, hero Manchu Manoj, has caused disputes in the family.
With this, the situation has changed to Manchu Mohan Babu vs. Manchu Manoj. Rachakonda CP Sudheer Babu said that three FIRs have already been registered in the Mohan Babu – Manchu Manoj dispute. They are investigating. The CP clarified that there is no delay in Mohan Babu’s arrest.
He said that a medical report will be taken from him and a notice has been given to Mohan Babu. He said that he has asked for time until December 24th of last month. He said that the Telangana High Court had also given Mohan Babu an exemption until the 24th. He said that he did not come even after that.
CP also said that Mohan Babu does not have any gun license in the Rachakonda area. He said that Mohan Babu has two guns. One is a double barrel and has a Spanish made revolver. On the other hand, there has been a conflict in the Manchu family recently. In that order, there was a campaign that something was going on between Manchu Mohan Babu and Manchu Manoj.
Due to this, Manchu Manoj forced himself into Mohan Babu’s residence in Jalpally, Shamshabad mandal. At the same time, Mohan Babu’s eldest son Manchu Vishnu arrived in Hyderabad from abroad. In this context, an attempted murder case was registered against Mohan Babu at the Pahadi Sharif police station.
