BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha has lashed out at the main opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for not speaking during the debate on the crucial Wakf Amendment Bill in the Lok Sabha and his sister Priyanka Gandhi has been accused of not even attending the House. She alleged that Rahul Gandhi turned his back on the Wakf Bill in the Lok Sabha.
She said that it is outrageous that Rahul Gandhi did not speak during the debate on the crucial Wakf Amendment Bill, which will trample the rights of minorities across the country. She said that it is even more outrageous that Priyanka Gandhi, who is the MP for the majority of minority voters, did not even attend the House.
Kavitha demanded that Rahul Gandhi, who is walking around holding the Constitution in his hand and promoting himself as the protector of the Constitution, should reveal the reasons behind his silence while the Constitution is being violated as a witness in the Lok Sabha. She alleged that this has proven that their love for the 30 crore minorities in the country is hypocritical.
The BRS MLC questioned whether the minorities will be remembered by the Congress party by Gandhis only at the time of elections? She said that Rahul Gandhi keeps making claims that it is the Congress party that protects the rights of minorities in the country.But during the discussion on the Waqf Bill, where did he go?, she asked.
She wondered why they did not raise their voice in favor of minorities in the House? She asked whether it was not a betrayal of Muslims that two Gandhis, being Lok Sabha members, did not speak on behalf of minorities on the Wakf Bill? She asserted that BRS has been with the same stand from the beginning regarding the welfare and development of minorities.
Kavitha said that they did not betray Muslims and minorities like the Congress party and the Gandhis. She recalled that BRS opposed the Wakf Amendment Bill brought by the Narendra Modi government at the Centre in the Rajya Sabha.
