Though BJP has been claiming that they would get double- digit Lok Sabha seats from Telangana, out of total 17 seats and party’s national leadership is making efforts to improve their present strength of 4 MPs considerably, the party’s campaign is yet to get momentum.
Though a couple of national leaders visited during the filing of BJP nominations by BJP candidates, concentrated efforts on behalf of state BJP is yet to be figured out. Key leaders like Union Minister and state party chief G Kishan Reddy and OBC Morcha chief Dr K Lakshman are mostly confined to media conferences. They are hardly seen going to people.
Kishan Reddy, who is more worried on retaining his Secunderabad seat is practically not going out of his constituency. Holding `Rythu Deeksha’ protesting state government’s apathy towards suffering farmers at the party office in Hyderabad, reflects how he isolated himself from people.
More prominently, the absence of a lone leader having a mass following and winning Goshamahal assembly seat three consecutive terms on his own Raja Singh is practically avoiding a poll campaign. He was not present even when BJP candidate Kompella Madhavilatha filed her nomination for Hyderabad parliamentary constituency on Wednesday.
His constituency is part of Hyderabad. He is reportedly angry with party leadership that his candidature was not considered to contest in Lok Sabha polls and also not even discussed with him. Although Union Minister Anurag Singh participated in the rally organized on the occasion of Madhavi Latha’s nomination, the MLA was nowhere to be seen.
He participated in the rallies organized on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami and Hanuman Jayanti. But He was not seen in Madhavi Latha’s campaign or meetings. While participating in the Hanuman Jayanthi rally, he said that he would do it wherever the party ordered him to work.
He did not even attend the meeting of booth level activists held at Nampally exhibition ground earlier this month. Even though the party had entrusted the in-charge of Hyderabad Parliament to Raja Singh in the past, he did not pay much attention to it.
