TDP MLA Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy expressed his anger over the YSRCP’s portrayal of rowdy sheeter Srikanth’s parole as a mistake in giving recommendation letters and expressed surprise, asking how the authorities granted him parole within 14 days of rejecting his recommendation letter.
He admitted that he had given a recommendation letter to Srikanth when his father and brother approached him. However, he said that the authorities had sent a reply on July 16 rejecting the letter he had given, but the authorities had granted him parole on July 30.
It may be recalled that a huge uproar broke out when rowdy sheeter Srikanth was granted parole bail 15 days after MLA Kotamreddy’s letter was rejected. Home Minister Anitha has ordered an inquiry into how this happened. He recalled that during the YSRCP regime, Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy and Kiliveti Sanjeevaiah gave similar recommendation letters to Srikanth.
He said that they also gave him parole based on those letter. How did the YSRCP, which is portraying the recommendation letters as wrong, bring Srikanth out then?, he asked. However, he expressed his anger that the YSRCP is spreading false propaganda to use it politically. He clarified that he will not blame the letters given by the MLAs.
Saying that the letters are normal and the authorities will take the decision, he said that everything in political life is a lesson. Kotamreddy Sridhar Reddy revealed that he will not recommend parole to anyone in the future. He stated that honesty and transparency are important while acting as a public representative.
He demanded that the government should investigate those behind this misinformation being spread against him and inform the people of the truth. On this occasion, he expressed strong objection to YSRCP leader Anam Vijayakumar Reddy mentioning his personal matters.
Sridhar Reddy questioned why Jagan Mohan Reddy did not take action against him if he had done any wrong business, political or financial deals? “Let’s talk about the murders, sand scams and real estate deals you did between 2004 and 2014,” MLA Kotamreddy challenged Anam Vijayakumar Reddy. He asked why no action was taken despite fighting against Jagan for 18 months.
