Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy: Ugadi to Bring Major Reforms for the Poor

Huzurnagar: Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy has announced that Ugadi will usher in a transformative change in the lives of the poor. He inaugurated the fine rice distribution scheme in Huzurnagar and addressed the media on the occasion.

He stated that 85% of the state’s population will benefit from the initiative. “Many people are not utilizing ration rice, and some are selling coarse rice in the black market instead of consuming it. Along with rice, other essential commodities such as dal and salt will also be provided soon. We have ensured that ration beneficiaries can collect their supplies from any location in the state. New ration cards will be issued to all eligible applicants, and those listed as beneficiaries will receive rice even without a physical card. The central and state governments collectively spend ₹10,665 crore annually on ration rice,” he said.
