Telangana State Minister Sridhar Babu has expressed dissatisfaction over the Central Government’s silence over the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-2 project. He said that it is regrettable that the Metro project was not mentioned in the recent Union Cabinet meeting. He criticized the Centre for ignoring such key issues, which should be in favor of the development of the people of the state.
Sridhar Babu alleged that the Centre’s quick approval of the Pune Metro project in Maharashtra while ignoring Hyderabad Metro Phase-2 clearly shows the malicious intent of the Central Government. He deplored that while metro services are crucial to provide better transport facilities to the people as part of the city’s growth, the Centre’s approach is hindering the development of the state.
Moreover, the Minister appealed to the Centre to cooperate in utilizing the lands of central government institutions in Telangana State for public purposes. He clarified that the Centre also needs to provide cooperation to the state, which is working towards development. He said that it is the Centre’s responsibility to treat all states equally in one country.
Meanwhile, Minister Sridhar Babu has appealed to the Central Government to take alternative measures in the wake of China’s restrictions on rare earth exports. He expressed concern that this decision taken by China will have a serious impact on the manufacturing sector of Telangana.
In a meeting with Union Minister Piyush Goyal in Delhi, he sought immediate intervention in the matter of rare earth export restrictions. He said that many leading electronics and electric vehicle manufacturing companies are facing serious obstacles due to their dependence on China for imports of rare earth magnets, key raw materials and chemicals.
Minister Sridhar Babu urged Union Minister Piyush Goyal to provide full support to the Centre for the development of industrial infrastructure in the state. He especially explained the details of the development of Hyderabad- Nagpur, Hyderabad- Warangal, Hyderabad- Bengaluru and Hyderabad- Vijayawada Industrial Corridors. He appealed to sanction Rs. 400 crore under the PM Gati Shakti scheme for the necessary infrastructure under the Industrial Smart City project being developed in Zaheerabad.
