Recently, Telangana Minister Konda Surekha sparked a major controversy when she brought up the topic of Akkineni Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s divorce while criticizing BRS leader KTR. The film industry unanimously condemned Konda Surekha’s remarks.
Although Konda Surekha has since retracted her statements, Minister Ponnam Prabhakar expressed frustration, noting that members of the film industry continue to respond to the issue. He commented, “Konda Surekha has withdrawn her remarks, and the controversy should have ended there. It is not appropriate for the film industry to keep discussing it.”
He also emphasized that Konda Surekha, a woman from a marginalized community, should not be seen as standing alone and urged people to exercise restraint in this matter. Ponnam Prabhakar made these statements during a media chat at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.
