Minister Ponnam Prabhakar Defends Rythu Bharosa Scheme, Announces Key Changes

Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has responded to intense criticism from opposition parties regarding the Rythu Bharosa scheme, stating that the government will begin providing benefits under the scheme from January 26. He also announced an increase in the scheme’s financial assistance, raising the amount from ₹10,000 to ₹12,000 per beneficiary.

Despite the state’s financial constraints, Minister Ponnam emphasized that the government had decided to enhance the cash distribution for farmers to support them through the Rythu Bharosa initiative.

In addition, Ponnam revealed that new ration cards, which have not been issued for the past decade, will be distributed starting January 26. He also assured that the Indiramma housing survey is being conducted transparently, with each constituency receiving an allocation of 3,500 Indiramma houses.
