Minister Narayana says Normalcy To Be Restored In Vijayawada In Two Days

Municipal Administration Minister Dr P. Narayana said that normalcy will be restored in Vijayawada city in two days. He inspected the flood water pumping works going on in many places in the city. He examined the flow of flood water in Budameru. After that, the minister told the media that heavy motors have been installed to pump out the flood water, and arrangements have been made to dig holes in the roads in some places and send the water out.

By Friday evening, he said measures have been taken to ensure that there is no flood water pumping anywhere in the city. He said that temporary measures have been started without any hindrance to the flow of Budameru, and there are still flood waters in some places in the rural areas. Minister Narayana said that the situation will be normal in all areas in two days.

On the other hand, a low pressure will be formed in the North Bay of Bengal on Friday due to the effect of the ongoing surface circulation in the NorthEast region of Bangladesh. According to the Meteorological Department, it will move west-north-west and enter the north-west Bay of Bengal adjacent to Bengal on the 15th.

Meanwhile, it does not seem possible to remove the boats stuck at Prakasam Barrage now. Day by day this matter is getting complicated. Engineers of Sea Lion Company and Beckham Company thought to destroy one of the two boats that surfaced on Wednesday night. But this was not possible.

Boat cutting in water is taking more time. The top of the boat was cut on Thursday morning. A very thick sheet of iron was used to make these boats. 18 meters foil should be cut in two rows of 9 meters. Including the submerged side also requires more cutting. Cutting is now done on the part which is visible above. It becomes difficult to cut the submerged part. Divers can only stay in the water for an hour.

Currently, cutting is going on from the bottom. In this background, the engineers came to the decision to cut each boat into two pieces. Iron ropes are expected to be installed from the Prakasam barrage side and the model guesthouse on the bank of the river to separate the two pieces.

For this, a rigging team of 10 people reached Vijayawada from Kakinada. Abbulu’s team, who played a crucial role when the boat sank at Kachulur in Papikonda, reached here. This team has good skills in pulling boats in water. A heavy rope is arranged on the ghat at the model guest and the broken part of the boat is pulled. The process is expected to begin on Friday afternoon. Cutting one boat took two days. As there are three boats at the barrage, there are indications that it will take up to a week.
