Minister Narayana says Action Against TDR Bonds Scam By September-End

Municipal Administration Minister Dr P. Narayana said that action against irregularities in thousands of crores rupees worth TDR bonds will be taken by the end of September. He said that a committee was already constituted to probe into these irregularities and action will be taken as soon as they receive the report.

Minister Narayana conducted a review with the officials at the Tuda office of Tirupati Municipal Corporation and Urban Development and said that problems in the municipal department will be resolved in 6 months.

He accused that corruption had reached new heights under the YCP regime and the systems in the municipal department had become disorganized during this period. Minister Narayana said that there has been significant development in SC and ST colonies in cities and towns from 2014-19.

He clarified that the new garbage tax introduced by the previous government will be removed soon. Minister Narayana accused that Jagan government has diverted Rs 450 crore central funds during 2023-24. Stating that they are spending in TUDA unlike any other urban development authority in the state and on salaries only spending Rs 15 crore.

He said that an investigation will be conducted and action will be taken against those employed in the municipal corporation, but they were used for personal purposes. He said that the software of the municipal department is being linked with the fire department, registration and revenue departments.

Minister Narayana said that he has given directions to the officials that people should not be made to go around offices and their issues should be attended to immediately.

Conducting a review on drinking water supply and UDS in Tirupati city, the minister asked the officials about the water reserves in Kandaleru and Balaji reservoirs. In this order, Minister Narayana ordered the officials to test the drinking water once a week to ensure that the drinking water of the residents of Tirupati is safe.

Narayana said that if the economic situation of the state is to improve, industries should come. He said that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is working hard to attract investments in the state. The minister said that 100 Anna canteens have been opened within two months and another 75 canteens will be opened on September 13.
