Minister for Energy Gottipati Ravi Kumar has described former Chief Minister and YCP Chief YS Jagamohan Reddy’s call for protests again alleging increase in electricity charges, as the culmination of Tughlaq’s actions. He said that no one in the world has seen such a strange trend.
The Minister wondered that while people should be holding a dharna in front of Jagan’s house over the imposed electricity burden, he called for a dharna in the collectorates. He said that Jaganmohan Reddy, who cheated the people once and went to the trouble, wants to do the same every time. But, he made it clear that it will not be possible all the time.
Minister Gottipati Ravi questioned the credibility of Jaganmohan Reddy’s words. Even before he left office, didn’t Jagan recommend to the ERC to impose electricity burden on the people?, he asked. The Minister said that the people know all these things.
He was furious that the government was answering the question asked by the YSRCP MLCs on electricity charges in the council and the party MLCs fled on the pretext of a walkout. He criticized that if the Telugu Desam government gave surplus electricity to the state in 2019, everyone knows how Jagan destroyed the electricity sector systems after he came to power.
Ravi Kumar recalled that Jagan had canceled PPAs related to investments in the electricity sector and chased away industrialists. He accused him of purchasing electricity from private companies at high prices to rob his followers.
He criticized that the state, which had made a series of successes in the electricity sector, had been brought to the lowest level with reverse rule. He lamented that the burden of the true up charges was definitely Jaganmohan Reddy’s creation. The Minister revealed that the sins committed by Jagan as CM have now become curses for the people.
