The high-profile celebration of senior Congress leader and MP Mallu Ravi in the name of taking charge as TPCC disciplinary committee chairman at Gandhi Bhavan, has led to the ire and discontent of Telangana Congress affairs in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan.
Probably no Congress leader exhibited such a celebratory mood in the name of taking charge of the disciplinary committee, which normally functions occasionally, whenever issues of discipline arise in the party.
But, soon after two days after the AICC announced him as Telangana Congress disciplinary committee chairman, Mallu Ravi came directly from Delhi to Gandhi Bhavan for the first time. There, he took charge from former chairman G. Chinna Reddy. Moreover, he took out a huge rally from Shamshabad Airport along with his followers.
It seems Meenakshi Natarajan took this rally matter seriously. After taking charge for courtesy sake when Mallu Ravi met Meenakshi, who was there, politely, she has reportedly expressed her extreme intolerance towards his behavior. Is there any need for such a fuss if the post of chairman of the disciplinary committee is given?, she asked.
Meenaksh has reportedly scolded Mallu Ravi for being in such a hurry. On this occasion, she also expressed her displeasure towards his activities in the party. She has asked why he lobbied to give a post to a Congress leader from Achampet who recently joined the party and who will be responsible if he changes the party in the future?
In addition, it is reported that local Congress leaders have complained to Meenakshi against Mallu Ravi’s meeting with Alampur BRS MLA Vijayudu. It is reported that former MLA Sampath Kumar is expressing his anger for meeting MLA Vijayudu, who defeated him. It is against this backdrop that he has complained to the PCC.
Meenakshi is said to have strongly warned Mallu Ravi and advised him to bring people from another party into the Congress only after consulting with local Congress leaders.
