Story:
In the sequel, Yesu (Satya) and Babu Mohan (Simha Koduri) are special agents with the HE team, focusing on kidnapping cases. They are known for their corruption, often manipulating cases for personal gain. One day, they receive an unofficial assignment involving a kidnapping case. They devise a clever plan and are nearly finished with the case when a violent murder takes place, and they are framed for the crime. As their own department pursues them, the story unfolds around their efforts to clear their names and prove their innocence.
Review:
Sri Simha Koduri delivered a commendable performance, bringing a calm and assured presence to the screen. However, despite being in the lead, Satya unquestionably took the limelight with his energetic portrayal. His lively expressions, witty dialogue delivery, and excellent comedic timing made him the film’s central attraction, occasionally outshining the lead character.
Faria Abdullah took on the role of a cop, but her character had minimal significance. Nevertheless, she made a genuine attempt to stand out with her presence on screen. Sunil’s role was fairly plain and didn’t offer the depth needed to leave a lasting impact. Rohini, portraying the leader of the HE team, gave a strong performance, while Ajay, though in a routine part, left a respectable impression. Unfortunately, Vennela Kishore’s character was poorly integrated into the storyline, which lessened its overall contribution.
Director Ritesh Rana infused Mathu Vadalara 2 with a generous dose of humor. Although the storyline was familiar and predictable, he managed to keep the first half entertaining through clever comedic moments and a briskly paced screenplay. The first half wrapped up on a compelling note, raising expectations for the latter part. However, the second half lost its steam, bogged down by repetitive sequences, slower pacing, and an all-too-familiar climax.
Kaala Bhairava’s background score greatly enhanced the film, adding depth to key moments and amplifying the overall atmosphere. Suresh Saramgam’s cinematography was impressive, with vibrant color palettes and inventive camera work that boosted the film’s visual appeal. However, Karthika Srinivas’s editing fell short, as many unnecessary scenes slowed the film’s pacing and diluted the final product. On the plus side, the clever dialogues and quirky one-liners injected a refreshing energy, while the production values were of high quality.
