Hyderabad: A fire accident occurred during the ‘Bharat Mata Maha Harati’ event, organized by the Bharat Mata Foundation, at the People’s Plaza Grounds on Necklace Road. The event, held on Sunday evening, was attended by Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, Union Minister Kishan Reddy, and several prominent figures.
The mishap took place after the event when fireworks were transported to the middle of Hussain Sagar Lake using two boats operated by the Telangana Tourism Department. During the fireworks display, sparks fell onto the boats, igniting the stockpiled fireworks and triggering a massive fire.
Both boats were completely destroyed in the blaze. Seven people were on board at the time of the incident. While four individuals managed to escape unharmed, three sustained injuries and were immediately shifted to a hospital for treatment.
Firefighters promptly arrived at the scene and conducted rescue operations. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the incident.
