Jana Sena MLA and former minister Mandali Buddha Prasad demands that Tamil actress and BJP leader Kasturi immediately apologize to the Telugu nation. Speaking to the media in Avanigadda, he said that Kasturi’s comments that Telugus came to serve the women of the inner city of Tamil Nadu are a great insult to the Telugu nation.
He said that those who ruled Tamil Nadu were Telugus. He said that Rani Mangamma ruled Mathura, and under the rule of Sri Krishnadevaraya in the Vijayanagara Empire, today’s Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala existed. He reminded that the Rayalas implemented Telugu as the royal language because those regions were Telugu-dominated areas.
Later, he recalled that the Nayaka kings ruled Mathura, Thanjavur, and Pudukkot regions and implemented Telugu as the administrative language. He said that the Satavahana Empire was also under the rule of Gautamiputra Satakarni.
He advised that Actress Kasturi should understand that the Telugus ruled Tamil Nadu but did not go to serve the women of the harem there. He advised her not to speak without knowing history. He said that Omandur Ramaswamy was the first Prime Minister of the Madras Presidency, and Kumararaja, Bobbili Raja and Muniswamy Naidu were the Chief Ministers of the United States of Madras.
He said that she did not know that the Telugus ruled for the longest time until the separation of AP and Tamil Nadu. He said that her comments about the Telugu nation were extremely insulting. He wanted to know that the then Chennapatnam, which is today’s Chennai metropolis, was built by a Telugu.
He wanted to know that Telugus Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu, Kasinadhuni Nageswara Rao and Durgabai Deshmukh played a major role in the freedom movement in the city of Madras. If the Telugus contributed to the development of the region as the rulers of the Tamil Nadu region, then every Telugu should condemn the way she spoke insultingly of the Telugus today, he said.
