Manchu Vishnu Expresses Interest In ‘Aavesham’ Remake

With Kannappa’s release date pending close at hand—releasing on June 27—actor-turned-producer Manchu Vishnu is going all out in promoting the film across India. As part of his grand promo tour, a special function was conducted recently in Kochi, Kerala, which attracted much attention as Malayalam megastar Mohanlal had a prominent role to play in the movie.

During an interaction with Malayalam media, Vishnu highly appreciated the Malayalam film industry and script-based narration. He admitted that he’s a great admirer of Malayalam films and the way the industry consistently produces quality, content-based films. He gave credit to the Malayalam audience for supporting good scripts and good stories, which, according to him, is the USP of the industry.

Manchu Vishnu also spoke about his admiration for much acclaimed Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil. He said Fahadh is one among his favorite actors and how Trance was such a film that left him with a lasting impression. Vishnu praised Fahadh’s intense acting and said his admiration for the actor only grows with every film.

The discussion naturally swiveled to Fahadh’s latest blockbuster Aavesham, a movie which impressed Vishnu so much that he seriously contemplated remaking it in Telugu. He was especially interested in the way the film amalgamated action, comedy, and raw storytelling, and Fahadh’s sizzling screen presence. But to his disappointment, he soon discovered that the remake rights were already bought by another party.

Conveying his disappointment, Vishnu mentioned that Aavesham had all the elements to be a hit among Telugu viewers too. Even though most Telugu viewers have already viewed the film either in its original version or through the process of dubbing, he personally believed that a good Telugu remake would have introduced a new, engaging experience on the silver screen.

Interestingly, Aavesham was initially rumored to have been under consideration for Telugu remakes featuring top stars such as Nandamuri Balakrishna and Ravi Teja, but none of that materialized. With Manchu Vishnu having revived the subject in his recent interview, news of a Telugu remake of Aavesham has returned once again.

Whether the remake rights owners will think of teaming up with Manchu Vishnu again in the future is yet to be seen. But one thing is certain — the actor is keen on providing smart, content-based cinema to the Telugu audience, and he’s always on the prowl for good stories that leave a lasting impression.
