Controversy deepened after the police tried to pick up Manchu Manoj late one night in Tirupati. Manoj was residing at Lake View Resorts, near Tirupati, when police came to check up at around 11 PM on Monday. The police officers, after recognizing him, told him allegedly that celebrities like him should not be staying in secluded forest areas and requested him to vacate. Feeling his privacy was being violated, Manoj confronted the police prior to going to the station. After a heated argument, he allegedly called Seema to continue the argument. Manoj had left the police station by 12:30 AM.
The actions of the police are said to have been prompted by news from Mohan Babu, who appeared worried about his son’s involvement in university affairs. This issue is said to have escalated further after Manoj had a meeting with Lokesh two days ago in Tirupati, leading Mohan Babu to act. Others believe that Mohan Babu is employing his influence to keep Manoj away from his position on suspected irregularities at the university. This has created rumors that the head of the family is attempting to dominate his son’s behavior, particularly with regards to his attempt to deal with problems at the university.
