Several YCP key leaders are hiding fearing arrests after the Election Commission of India (ECI) took serious note of the post- poll violence acting on several police officers and also forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT).
Among YCP leaders, Macherla MLA PInnelli Ramakrishna Reddy is the most notorious one, who has been allegedly personally involved in attacks against political opponents. Surprisingly, he has not been seen since Thursday night.
The ECI is also angry against him for severely disrupting the polling process in Palnadu and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu demanded his immediate arrest stating that it would be difficult to control violence as long as he is present in Macherla.
On Thursday night, along with his brother he reportedly went to the CM’s camp office in Tadepalli and stayed for an hour discussing various things. After that, they returned home at around 10 pm. They reached upstairs, keeping gunmen on the ground floor.
Meanwhile, they suspected their immediate arrest after knowing news about the suspension of Palnadu SP and transfer of Collector. It is known that around 2 o’clock in the night, they jumped the wall behind the house and fled in a private vehicle. Many suspect that they had `escaped’ from there as per the `sketch of Tadepalli’ advisors.
Meanwhile, after the start of the election polling process, it is known that the Election Commission is serious about the case against Pinnelli brothers, as they were felt to be responsible for large scale riots in the constituency during the polling and also after the polling.
EC findings revealed that a section of police colluded with them providing information about the movement of special police parties and also TDP leaders enabling them to plan attacks avoiding police nod. The Palnadu SP, who was suspended by the ECI was said to be directed by a senior police officer, who was kept away from election related duties by the ECI, `unofficially’. ECI is said to have obtained a detailed report on the anarchy created by Pinnelli brothers in Macherla constituency.
