IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that his target is to create 5 lakh IT jobs in AP. At the same time, he revealed that plans are being made to develop all areas. Answering the questions of legislators on IT development in Visakhapatnam, Lokesh reminded us that we had promised in the past that Visakhapatnam would be developed as an IT hub.
He said that a data center policy was also formulated for that. Lokesh criticized that not a single conference related to industries and IT companies was organized during the previous government’s regime. Lokesh said that meetings have been held with many IT companies in the last five months.
‘TCS will set up a campus in Visakhapatnam in three months. The government is making efforts to establish an IT ecosystem in Visakhapatnam. Data centers are only in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai. We are spending $300 billion on data centers. If they had come according to the data center policy brought by the TDP, Visakhapatnam would have become a world data center,’ Lokesh added.
On the other hand, Lokesh said that Rs. 500 crore has been allocated in the budget to pay pending incentives. He said that incentives will be provided to IT companies after the end of the legislative session. He said that TCS Chandrasekaran has said that they should focus on the speed of doing business.
Lokesh revealed that if Reliance is congratulated on compressed biogas units, they have promised to set up 700 units in the state. “We will also bring an IT policy in the state soon. Along with Adani, some companies are showing interest in coming to Visakhapatnam’, he said.
The minister said that a national-level framework related to data centers is being designed. Data centers will come up on the IT hills in Visakhapatnam in the next three months, he said. “We are talking to Nixie and trying to get the Sea Landing Internet cable from Singapore,” Lokesh added.
