Legal Action Filed Against Actor Venu Thottempudi

Venu Thottempudi, an actor, is currently embroiled in a legal dispute with a construction company owned by the family of BJP MP CM Ramesh. The case is related to a breach in contract pertaining to a hydroelectric project in Uttarakhand from way back in 2002.

It started when Venu, of Progressive Construction Company, entered into a joint venture with Rithvik Projects to obtain the project. However, midway through the deal, Progressive Construction pulled out from the partnership and this left significant financial losses on the table for Rithvik Projects.

In response, Rithvik Projects has filed a case against Venu for violating the terms of their agreement. The legal battle has led to a directive from the Nampally Second Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, who has ordered the registration of a case against Venu and other parties involved.

Rithvik Projects, managed by CM Ramesh’s brother, is known for its strong presence in the Indian construction sector. Venu, a former actor turned contractor, shifted his career focus to construction after experiencing a decline in film opportunities. Despite his shift, the joint venture between Progressive Construction and Rithvik Projects turned controversial due to disputes over financial terms, ultimately leading to the withdrawal of Progressive Construction from the project.

Following the court’s order, the Hyderabad Police have registered a case against Venu and other members of Progressive Construction. To date, neither Venu nor Rithvik Projects has made any statements regarding the ongoing legal proceedings.

This ongoing legal case is gaining tremendous attention because the involvement of Venu in it brings together both his past and present careers – that of film star and his new venture as a construction major.
