Kubera Team Drops ‘Pe Pe Dum Dum’ in Mumbai; Stars Tease Exciting On-Set Moments

Mumbai: The team of the upcoming pan-India film Kubera, starring Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh, ramped up promotions ahead of its June 20 theatrical release by launching the song “Pe Pe Dum Dum” in Mumbai on Tuesday. Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, the film is set to release in multiple languages across India.

During the event, actor Nagarjuna expressed his long-standing desire to work with Kammula. “When Sekhar approached me for a role in Kubera, I accepted without even asking about the character, simply because I know his talent. This film is very special to me,” he said. He lauded co-star Jim Sarbh, remarking that the latter delivered Telugu dialogues with impressive fluency. Speaking about Dhanush, Nagarjuna called him a “brilliant actor” who is deeply immersed in his craft. He also praised Rashmika as a “powerhouse of talent,” adding that her recent box office success has surpassed many in the industry. Nagarjuna credited music composer Devi Sri Prasad for being one of the film’s major strengths.

Rashmika shared insights into the filming process, stating that a scene shot in a dump yard posed a significant challenge. “Sekhar sir prefers real locations over sets. This role is unlike anything I’ve done before and will definitely surprise audiences,” she said.

When asked about his role, Nagarjuna clarified that he does not play a troubled millionaire, as speculated. However, he refrained from revealing further details, citing the studio’s discretion. He acknowledged the growing acceptance of South Indian films in North India and confirmed that Kubera, along with his other film Coolie, will also release in Hindi.

Jim Sarbh described Kubera as a significant milestone in his career. “Working in a South Indian film for the first time, and that too under Sekhar Kammula’s direction with such a stellar cast, has been a wonderful experience,” he said.

Kubera is poised to be one of the major multilingual releases of the year, with high expectations surrounding its performances and storytelling.
