Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) is preparing for a strong protest against the caste census report, alleging that the Congress-led government has deliberately underreported the Backward Classes (BC) population. To counter this, he is planning a massive public meeting in Kamareddy, the very place where the Congress announced its BC Declaration. Sources confirm that the venue has been finalized, and KTR is determined to expose what he calls Congress’ betrayal of BCs.
KTR’s Counterattack on Congress Over BC Representation
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy recently claimed that BCs were intentionally undercounted in the caste census, accusing the ruling party of attempting to limit BC voting power to less than 5%. In response, KTR has been holding intense discussions with BC leaders to strategize their next move. Over the past week, he has met with key BC representatives and, on Sunday, convened a crucial meeting with senior BRS leaders to finalize their action plan.
Calls for a Fresh and Transparent Caste Census
KTR has outright rejected the current caste census, calling it inaccurate and misleading. He emphasized the need for a transparent survey to accurately determine BC representation. He also pointed out several inconsistencies, claiming that many BC families were reportedly excluded, raising concerns over the credibility of the report.
Taking a direct dig at Congress, KTR reminded them of their promise to provide 42% reservations for BCs in the BC Declaration and accused them of failing to keep their word. He demanded immediate implementation of the promised reservations instead of misleading the BC community with false commitments.
KTR Slams Congress for Failing BCs in Political Representation
KTR also criticized the Congress for failing to give proper political representation to BCs. He pointed out that despite their tall claims, the party allotted only two parliamentary seats to BC candidates and gave just 19 tickets to BCs in the Assembly elections. He further highlighted that five of those seats were in Hyderabad’s Old City, suggesting that Congress is merely using BCs for political mileage rather than truly empowering them.
BRS to Launch Awareness Campaigns Across Telangana
To mobilize support and spread awareness, KTR and BRS leaders are planning district and constituency-level programs to educate the public about the caste census issue and Congress’ alleged betrayal.
With the caste census debate heating up, KTR’s aggressive stance is expected to intensify political discussions across Telangana in the coming weeks.
