BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has issued a stern warning to the Congress government regarding the Kaleshwaram project. Speaking on Friday after inspecting the Kannepalli pump house with BRS representatives, KTR stated that if the Kaleshwaram pumps are not activated by August 2, the party will mobilize 50,000 farmers to start the pumps themselves.
KTR criticized the Congress government for its alleged inaction, accusing them of using political vendetta to undermine the Kaleshwaram project and defame KCR. He emphasized that the Kaleshwaram project is essential for Telangana’s agriculture and should not be used as a political tool.
“The current situation does not support adequate water supply for crop cultivation,” KTR said. “Despite previous assurances and available water from the Godavari River, the state government is not acting in the interest of farmers.” He called for immediate action to fill the Kaleshwaram reservoirs with water before the assembly session begins.
KTR’s remarks follow a report from engineers who claimed there were no technical difficulties in activating the pump house. The BRS has demanded that the government address the issue urgently to avoid further disruption to agriculture in the state.
