KTR Hopeful of Kavitha Getting Bail In A Week

With the Supreme Court granting bail to former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sosodia after serving 17 months in jail in the Delhi Liquor Scam case, BRS leaders believe that BRS MLC Kavitha, who has been in jail for five months in the case, will get bail soon.

Her brother and the party’s executive president KT Rama Rao predicted that she might get bail within a week. Especially the comments made by the Supreme Court while granting bail to Sisodia are believed to be in favor of her getting bail.

The Supreme Court questioned how long they will be kept in jail without  trial? Apart from that, it also expressed the opinion that there is no possibility of tampering with the evidence as the investigating agencies have collected almost all the documents related to the necessary evidence in this case.

The Supreme Court also stated that the investigating agencies are unable to present any direct evidence except the evidence of those who have been arrested and become approvers. Meanwhile, KTR said that Kavitha is facing a lot of difficulties in jail.

Kavitha has lost 11 kg weight so far. KTR expressed concern about Kavitha’s prison life saying that she is suffering from BP, the prison is not clean and there are up to 30,000 prisoners in a prison that should have 11,000 prisoners.

After Manish Sisodia has already been granted bail, KTR expressed hope that Kavitha will also get bail. To this extent, KTR and Harish Rao made a lot of efforts in Delhi to bring Kavitha out of jail.

On the other hand, the hearing in Rouse Avenue court on the charge sheet filed against Kavitha was once again postponed. The decision was taken adjourning the inquiry to 21st of this month. The CBI has filed a chargesheet naming Kalvakuntla Kavitha and Delhi CM Kejriwal as accused in the Delhi Liquor Scam case. As   part of the trial in Rouse Avenue court, the lawyers for the accused will have to scrutinize the charge sheet filed by the CBI while presenting their arguments and told the court.

On the other hand, it was explained to the court that the papers in the charge sheet have page number only on one side and it will be difficult to hear the arguments. On this, the CBI said that the pagination will be corrected by the 14th of this month and the court should be given time till then. The court adjourned the further hearing on the charge sheet to 12 noon on August 21.
