Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s recent comments about the former Chief Minister KCR have ignited a fierce rebuttal from KTR, the working president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). KTR criticized Revanth, claiming that he became Chief Minister through luck, calling it a “lottery win” rather than through any substantial political effort. He contrasted this with KCR’s illustrious political career, which he described as “historic.”
While attending the unveiling of an Ambedkar statue in Parigi, KTR responded strongly to Revanth’s comments. He defended KCR’s leadership and suggested that Revanth should consult Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to understand the true essence of KCR’s political vision and leadership.
KTR didn’t hold back in his criticism, accusing Revanth of having a history of insulting others instead of demonstrating real leadership qualities. He challenged Revanth to lead the state without resorting to corrupt practices or commission-based dealings, emphasizing that such actions would truly showcase his ability to govern.
In response to Revanth’s challenge for KCR to return to the assembly, KTR invited Revanth to visit Lagacherla without security, highlighting the stark contrast between the political stature of KCR and Revanth. KTR made it clear that despite Revanth’s criticisms, the BRS would soon be holding a large public meeting in Kodangal to assert their political strength.
KTR also turned the focus to KCR’s significant contributions to Telangana’s development. He emphasized the numerous achievements under KCR’s leadership, including the establishment of new districts, revenue divisions, and panchayats across the state. KTR also highlighted the Rythu Bandhu scheme, which has provided Rs 73,000 crore to farmers, making Telangana a role model in agricultural welfare.
In addition, KTR slammed the opposition for their failure to achieve promises including money, scholarship and timely payments of sanitation workers’ salaries. They are accused of neglecting people’s needs. The KTR summed up his talk by claiming that Telangana has performed spectacularly under the leadership of KCR, which the rhetoric of the oppositions could not measure up.
This exchange between Revanth Reddy and KTR underscores the growing political tensions in Telangana and highlights the contrasting leadership styles between the Congress and BRS.
