Tollywood director Koratala Siva, who is known for blockbusters films like Mirchi, Srimanthudu and Bharat Ane Nenu, delivered a damp squib with Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya. The film, which also featured Ram Charan in an extended cameo, not just came a cropper at the box office but also resulted in huge embarassment for Koratala because of the financial entangles he faced after its release. There were several rumours at that time that Koratala was forced to sell his properties to compensate for the losses to buyers.
Keeping aside the poor fate of the box office, the result of Acharya led to several speculations that Chiranjeevi and Koratala Siva were not in good terms due to some creative differences while working on the project. There were rumours that Koratala was sidelined and it was Chiranjeevi who suggested changes to the script and interfered with the making of the film. Also, some of Koratala Siva’s recent statements during media interactions were interpreted as indirect references to Chiranjeevi.
Surprisingly, all is well between Koratala Siva and Megastar. In an interview to Telugu media, Koratala cleared the air on these ongoing rumours. He said there are no differences at all with Chiranjeevi. He revealed that Chiranjeevi lent moral support when he was in low spirits and gave him confidence to bounce back strongly with his next film.
Koratala also clarified that his statements were intentionally misinterpreted and asserted that they are aimed at anyone. He exuded confidence on Devara and said it will be a visual feast.
