TDP’s NRI wing Coordinator Komati Jayaram has strongly refuted the allegation that he had violated Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during the elections period. Strongly responding to Election Commission’s AP CEO M K Meena’s notice on it, he asserted that he has a fundamental right to campaign for the party of his choice, as an NRI.
He said that he respects and obeys the laws of India, but he blamed that the EC issued notice to him on the basis of ruling party leaders, who distorted his comments made during a meeting held with the leaders of the TDP NRI wing.
He said that it was an open meeting held at Telugu Desam Party’s headquarters in Mangalagiri and not a secret meeting. He addressed the meeting with NRIs as a member of TDP’s NRI wing, advising them to work for the party during elections.
During the meeting, Komati Jayaram said that no wrong comments were made on the government advisors. It was only decided to tour the entire state using our own funds. He stated that their aim is to explain to people the good that has happened to various communities under the Telugu Desam Party government in the state.
He expressed his anger that it is inappropriate to say that he made wrong comments on the government advisors and tried to influence people by giving bribes. Jayaram explained that he has been working for the Telugu Desam Party for many years and has never violated the rules. He asked the EC’s AP CEO to look into the facts of the deliberate complaint made by the ruling party against him and stop further action.
