Kishan Reddy says Real Hyderabad Is In slums, seeks To Enhance Brand Image of Hyderabad

Hyderabad is not just Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills and Hi-Tech City, but the real Hyderabad is in the slums, said Union Coal Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy. He hoped that the city should be developed to further enhance the brand image of Hyderabad. He said that the necessary funds will be sanctioned from the Center.

The Hyderabad District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting was held at the Dr. Marri Chenna Reddy Human Resource Development Center on Thursday under the chairmanship of Union Minister Kishan Reddy. MP Etala Rajender, Hyderabad District Collector Dasari Harichandana, representatives of various departments and senior officials were present in this meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, Kishan Reddy suggested that there should be better coordination between departments to implement central schemes in a timely and effective manner. He urged all departments and public representatives to work in coordination for the development of Hyderabad. He said that despite the shortage of funds in Hyderabad city, the available funds should be used effectively and developed.

Kishan Reddy said that poor people are still facing many problems in the slums and slums and ordered development plans to be prepared to solve them. He said that even after a little rain in Hyderabad, roads are flooded and problems are being faced.

He expressed his regret that it is unfortunate that two people in Nampally and one youth in Sanathnagar were washed away in a drain due to recent rains. He called on the members of Parliament, MLAs and officials of all departments to work together and remember the importance of the city and protect it.

He said that no matter where one goes, problems are faced due to rainwater and floods. He said that the drainage system has been damaged in many areas. Kishan Reddy expressed concern that it is mixing with drinking water and people are falling ill due to this. He asked for special attention to be paid to schools, community halls, Anganwadi centers and hostels and to solve the problems.  

Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender urged the government to coordinate with Hydra to find a permanent solution to the flooding. He expressed concern that the heavy rains were a good thing, but that even colonies that never receive water were being submerged.
