Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy said that the Cherlapally terminal, which is taking shape at the international level, will be opened within a month. Kishan Reddy inspected the ongoing construction work of Cherlapally Terminal with a cost of Rs.430 crores on Sunday.
Kishan Reddy said that there is a need to increase road connectivity from Cherlapally to Hyderabad city and urged the state government to complete the road construction works on war footing. He said that the Secunderabad railway station is being equipped with modern facilities and these works will be completed by December 2025.
The Union Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dedicate the Secunderabad Railway Station to the people with the most modern facilities in South India. He said that all local railway stations are being developed as part of the Amrit scheme.
He said that works have been started at Cherlapally with Rs.430 crore, Secunderabad with Rs.715 crore and Nampally with Rs.429 crore. He said that the work of the rail manufacturing unit at Kazipet with a cost of Rs.521 crore is also going on fast.
He said that MMTS has been extended from Hyderabad to Yadadri. Construction work related to it will be taken up soon. “Charlapalli terminal is likely to be opened in a few months. With this terminal, the pressure on Secunderabad station will be reduced. The areas near the terminal will be developed”, he said.
The Union Minister further added that “the terminal has been established with all kinds of facilities. The state government should cooperate for road connectivity to the terminus. Although it was told to KCR in the past, the roads leading to the terminal were ignored. Already I wrote a letter to the state government for speedy construction of connectivity roads. The government said that they have prepared a master plan for roads.”
