Kiran Abbavaram’s movie K (KA Movie), directed by Sujeet and Sandeep, has become a smashing hit! Featuring Kiran in the lead role, alongside Tanvi Ram and Nayan Sarah, the film took the theaters by storm, raking in over ₹50 crores at the box office, all as a Diwali treat for audiences. But the magic didn’t stop there, since November 28, K has been streaming on ETV Win, and in just one day, it clocked an astonishing 100 million streaming minutes! To celebrate the success, the team recently held a special press meet, and Kiran shared some heartfelt thoughts.
“Producer Chinta Gopalakrishna was a huge pillar of support. He never held back when it came to the budget. A massive thank you to all the viewers who supported us,” Kiran expressed, beaming with pride. “We’re thrilled to be the first Telugu film to release with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision on OTT. A big shout-out to the ETV Win team for making it all happen.”
When asked about rumors that his paycheck had skyrocketed after the success of K, Kiran joked, “Of course, it had to increase! I’ve had my share of struggles, but now it’s time for a raise. I only take money from producers once they’ve seen profits.”
As for the much-anticipated K 2, Kiran revealed, “The script is being worked on, and it will take a little more time. Meanwhile, I’ve got a couple of projects lined up. Once those are done, K 2 will be my top priority. We plan to make it even bigger and better than the first one!”
Did K deliver the success Kiran was hoping for? “Honestly, it’s not just about the success. The audience has truly made me one of their own. Wherever I go, the warmth and trust I feel from them is incredible. They believe in my choice of content, and I’ll make sure I live up to that trust,” Kiran shared with a smile. “While we couldn’t achieve the reach we wanted, we’re hopeful about future releases, including the Hindi version slated for Christmas.”
Finally, when asked if he would’ve quit films if K hadn’t been successful, Kiran said, “I’m someone who sticks to my word. I would’ve never backed down.” His determination is truly inspiring, and with his infectious charm and passion for good content, we can’t wait to see what’s next!
