Kesineni Srinivas (Kesineni Nani), who previously declared his retirement from politics, now appears to be changing his mind, creating new waves in the political arena.
Sources report that Nani has been engaged in active discussions with BJP Andhra Pradesh president Daggubati Purandeswari, setting the stage for his possible joining of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). His official induction will be in the near future, making a big change in his political life and announcing his return to active politics.
The political life of Kesineni Nani, which started with TDP, was established on the basis of his achievement as a businessman who established Kesineni Travels. He won the seat as a Member of Parliament in Vijayawada during the 2014 general elections and also returned to power successfully in 2019, thereby becoming one of the noted political leaders of the area. With the complete blessings of TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Nani initiated massive development work in Vijayawada for which he was famous for his leadership and command.
But due to family differences, Nani went astray from TDP and joined the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP). Contesting in the 2024 general elections with the YSRCP party from Vijayawada Lok Sabha, it shocked everyone that his own younger brother, Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni), contesting on a TDP ticket, defeated him. Nani shocked all with his defeat and declared his intention to quit politics, calling it a retirement from politics for eternity.
In spite of his previous announcement, rumors abounded that Nani was having trouble disengaging himself from political life. Now, with his potential joining of the BJP, Andhra Pradesh’s political scene is buzzing once again. The biggest question being asked is how Nani will balance his alignment within the BJP, as he has had a past history with his brother and BJP continues to have strong ties with TDP.
As Kesineni Nani readies himself for his possible comeback to politics, his choices are bound to have a big say in Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape. With BJP and TDP partnerships in the works, his move will certainly arouse much debate and interest.
