Keerthy Suresh, who recently entered marital life, is also celebrating the success of her Bollywood debut film Baby John. The actress took to social media to thank Samantha for recommending her for the role, which led to her entry into the Hindi film industry.
Baby John, a remake of the Tamil film Teri, features Keerthy in the role originally played by Samantha in the Tamil version. Keerthy shared that when the filmmakers decided to remake the film in Hindi, Samantha suggested her name for the part. “I am thrilled to play the role that Samantha portrayed so brilliantly in Tamil. Entering Bollywood with Baby John has been an unforgettable experience, and I am deeply grateful to Samantha for making this opportunity possible,” Keerthy stated.
The actress also revealed her initial apprehension about taking on the role but credited Samantha’s unwavering support for boosting her confidence. “When the film team finalized my name, Samantha posted on her Instagram story, saying that no one else could do justice to this role. Her encouragement gave me the confidence I needed, and I approached the shoot with excitement,” Keerthy added.
Keerthy and Samantha previously worked together in the critically acclaimed biographical film Mahanati, where Samantha portrayed a journalist and Keerthy starred as the legendary actress Savitri. Baby John, directed by Kalies, was released on December 25 as a Christmas gift. The film stars Varun Dhawan alongside Keerthy Suresh, with Wamika Gabbi and Jackie Shroff in key roles.
