Kavitha’s Arrest A BJP- BRS Match Fixing?

The sudden arrest of BRS MLC and BRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao’s daughter Kavitha on Friday evening is creating political uproar ahead of Lok Sabha polls. Though central agencies are behind her for the last more than a year, the very timing of her arrest gives scope for suspicion of a political plot.

It may be recalled that her arrest was engineered all of a sudden just a day ahead of Election Commission of India (ECI) swing to announce poll schedule. Soon after her arrest, Prime Minister Narendra Modi landed in Hyderabad, to participate in a ‘road show’ in Malkajgiri Lok Sabha constituency, with the highest number of voters in the country.

It is normal practice for Prime Minister Modi to give a brief speech during `road show in any city or atleast he will send his message to people through a series of tweets. But in Hyderabad he was completely silent and not a single tweet was given.

Immediately after her arrest, state BJP president and union minister G Kishan Reddy conducted a video conference with all important party functionaries in Telangana. He cautioned them not to make any comment in the media about her arrest. He said that the BJP stand is Kavitha’s arrest is her individual issue, nothing political.

While ED and IT officials are at Kavitha’s residence, state Congress minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy made a key allegation that this is match fixing between BRS and BJP parties. He accused that ED raids are a drama of Modi and Amit Shah.

A fortnight ago, Congress party senior leader Jagga Reddy sensed a conspiracy and claimed that BJP and BRS were enacting a new drama, as part of which Kavitha could be arrested if it would fetch them votes and impact the Congress’s prospects in the upcoming Parliament polls.

It may be mentioned here that in last November assembly polls Congress swing into power in Telangana mainly by exposing `BRS- BJP unholy alliance’, for which they pointed out that Kavitha was not arrested in Delhi Liquor case, though Delhi Deputy Chief Minister, another minister and some other prominent persons were arrested.

By avoiding ED summons, when Kavitha approached the Supreme Court, ED even didn’t challenge her contentions and assured they are not in hurry to arrest her. BJP realised that their `unholy proximity with KCR’ cost them a lot in Assembly polls and they could not win seats in their traditionally strong Greater Hyderabad and surrounding constituencies, except Raja Singh from Ghoshamahal.

Presently various surveys indicate that Congress is bound to repeat its performance in Lok Sabha polls also by winning over 10 of total 17 seats in Telangana. Congress leaders alleged that both BJP and BRS became panicked with continued Congress popularity in the state and enacting a drama of `Kavitha arrest’ to divert public attention.

Electoral bonds exposes Megha proximity with BRS

The exposure of electoral bonds details in the SBI documents submitted to the Election Commission of India reveals that Hyderabad- based Megha Engineering promoters are one of the top contributors to electoral bonds. Their proximity with YSRCP in Andhra Pradesh and BRS in Telangana is an open secret.

They have hijacked most of the high-profile infrastructure projects like Kaleswaram and Polavaram from the two governments. It was this bondage of Megha’s proximity with BRS and YCP governments said to be the reason that brought both KCR and YS Jaganmohan Reddy together politically.

While the ruling BJP topped the list encashing electoral bonds to the tune of Rs 6,060.5 crore, the regional party All India Trinamool Congress followed with Rs 1,609 crore in donations. is in place. Later, the Congress encashed Rs.1,421.90 crore in donations and the fourth-placed regional party, the Bharatiya Rashtra Samithi, received Rs.1,214.70 crore.

Lion share of these donations, BRS said to be received from Megha, the major engineering contractor for Kaleswaram project. As a result, it

exposes the reason behind BRS chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao taking personal interest in re-designing the Kaleshwaram project and monitoring its implementation.

Despite the BRS chief’s huge amount of funds and hard work, the Kaleshwaram project turned out to be a disaster as the Medigadda barrage cracked and showed signs of collapsing in the near future.

This shows that a huge amount of corruption has taken place in the design and implementation of the Kaleshwaram project, which was undertaken at a cost of nearly Rs 1 lakh crores. For this reason, Telangana CM A. Revanth Reddy is throwing dirt on the defects in the project works.

For obvious reasons, the BRS government is involved in neck-deep corruption in relation to the project, the construction standards are not proper.
