BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha alleged that the real interest of the Congress government on the Musi beautification project to grab lands from the poor people in the Musi catchment area and mortgage them to the World Bank to build real estate
She exposed that the Congress government sent proposals to the World Bank on September 19 to this extent. She said that in those proposals it is clearly written that it is a Musi Riverfront Development Project. She lamented that but the government is lying about seeking a World Bank loan for sewage treatment.
“The Congress government sent proposals to the World Bank on September 19. The proposals clearly stated that it was the Musi Riverfront Development Project. But Minister Sridhar Babu falsely said that the World Bank loan was sought for sewage treatment, not the Musi project” she said.
“The proposals clearly stated that real estate and land pooling would be used to build big buildings. The state government informed the World Bank that there were DPRs. But the government said that there were no DPRs in the Legislative Council” she added.
Moreover, after sending proposals to the World Bank, she revealed that the government appointed a consortium to prepare the DPR in October. MLC Kavitha questioned the government about why it was lying and for whom it was undertaking this project?
She reminded that the government had also acted secretly in the matter of changing the shape of Telangana Thalli. However, she demanded that the government should give a clear answer in the Assembly on the issue of the Musi project.
She criticized that the state government was telling different things to the Center, the World Bank, the Assembly and the poor people. She is concerned that the people living in the Musi catchment areas are in a state of panic and fear that their houses will be demolished due to the marking of 15,000 houses.
She demanded that the government should tell where the displaced people will be rehabilitated. She suggested that the government should reveal a clear plan as to what the displaced people will get in the real estate that the government is going to do?
