Kamalini Mukherjee Reveals Reason for Hiatus from Telugu Cinema

Actress Kamalini Mukherjee, who won the hearts of Telugu audiences with her debut in Anand and later earned acclaim with films like Godavari and Gamyam, has revealed the reason behind her nearly decade-long absence from Tollywood.

In a recent interview, Kamalini said she was deeply disappointed by the way a character she played in a Telugu film was portrayed on screen. “There was a big difference between how I envisioned the role and how it appeared in the final film. That one experience hurt me a lot, which is why I decided to distance myself from Telugu cinema,” she explained.

The actress also spoke about her co-stars, praising their professionalism. “Nagarjuna is still very handsome and fun to be around on sets. Sharwanand acts very naturally, is highly dedicated to his work, and does not feel the need to prove himself as a star,” she said.

Kamalini was last seen in the 2014 Ram Charan-starrer Govindudu Andarivadele. Since then, she has appeared in successful films in other industries, including Tamil’s Iraivi and the Malayalam hit Pulimurugan alongside Mohanlal.
