BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha commended Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for his efforts in Delhi to secure higher prices for chili farmers. She urged Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to take similar action by advocating for a minimum support price of ₹25,000 per quintal for chili farmers.
During her visit to Mahabubabad district, Kavitha addressed the media, emphasizing that Revanth Reddy should take inspiration from Chandrababu’s approach. Highlighting the high costs of chili cultivation, which runs into lakhs per acre, she called on the Telangana government to prioritize the challenges faced by chili and turmeric farmers. She warned that without a fair minimum support price, farmers would incur significant losses.
Criticizing the state government, Kavitha accused it of functioning in “PPP mode,” which she sarcastically defined as “Phobia, Politics, and Percentage.”
