Kajol Clarifies Remarks on Actor Stress Amid Controversy

Bollywood actress Kajol has addressed the controversy surrounding her recent comments on the celebrity talk show Too Much. On the show, she compared the pressures faced by actors to those of corporate employees, sparking widespread discussion across social media. Kajol later clarified that her intention was not to belittle any profession and emphasized that she respects every line of work.

Explaining her viewpoint, Kajol said, “Every job is different, and acting is unique. During the shoot for the second season of The Trial, we worked in one location for 40 days without a break. Actors must always be available, maintain a strict workout routine, eat properly, and look consistent every day. It’s extremely stressful, and that was the point I was making with my comparison.”

She also highlighted the differences between acting and office jobs, noting, “Unlike corporate employees who can take tea breaks or short rests during a 9-to-5 schedule, actors are constantly observed even during shooting breaks. Every movement, every expression is under scrutiny.” Kajol concluded by reiterating her respect for all professions, clarifying that her remarks were intended to explain the unique demands of acting rather than criticize other careers.
