Prajashanthi Party President KA Paul has issued a strong ultimatum to cricketers and film actors allegedly involved in the betting apps promotion case, demanding that they admit their wrongdoing and apologize within 72 hours.
The case has created a major controversy across the state, with legal action initiated against several prominent figures, including actors Rana Daggubati, Vijay Deverakonda, and Nidhi Agarwal, as well as Bigg Boss stars, social media influencers, and other film artists. The police have intensified their investigation, summoning those named in the case for questioning.
In a video statement shared on social media, KA Paul criticized celebrities endorsing betting apps, alleging that such promotions were misleading the public. He further accused cricketers, actors, and influencers of promoting betting platforms under the guise of online skill games, as well as endorsing alcohol and tobacco under misleading labels.
Paul questioned whether a legendary cricketer like Sachin Tendulkar needed to be associated with betting app promotions. He also claimed that 25 celebrities, including Vijay Deverakonda, Balakrishna, and Lakshmi Manchu, could face imminent arrests. Warning against political and police interference, he stated that if authorities failed to act due to external influence, he would take the matter to the Supreme Court.
Drawing a reference to actor Prakash Raj, Paul asserted that those involved should publicly admit their mistake and apologize, failing which he would continue his campaign against them. He further alleged that such promotions had resulted in human casualties, questioning whether this was the legacy these celebrities wanted to leave for their fans.
Paul has given a 72-hour deadline for those implicated in the case to come forward and issue a public apology.
