BRS leader and former minister Jogu Ramanna has filed a complaint with the Adilabad police against Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. In his complaint, he alleges that the Chief Minister is spreading falsehoods regarding the ₹2 lakh loan waiver scheme, causing unrest among farmers. Ramanna submitted the complaint to Adilabad DSP Jeevan Reddy.
The complaint states that a democratically elected Chief Minister, holding a constitutional position, is making false statements about the loan waiver. Ramanna noted that these remarks are troubling the farmers. He mentioned that Congress leaders urged farmers to take a loan of ₹2 lakh from banks, promising that the waivers would be implemented on December 9 once they came to power, but later changed their stance.
He further claimed that during various visits, the Chief Minister assured the public that the loan waiver would be implemented before August 15, but so far, no waivers have been granted. Initially, the loan waiver amount was stated to be ₹49,000 crores, which was later revised to ₹40,000 crores and then to ₹31,000 crores. However, he noted that only ₹26,000 crores were allocated in the budget. By August 15, only ₹18,000 crores had been waived, he added. Ramanna criticized the Chief Minister’s claim in a letter to Prime Minister Modi that waivers had been granted in three phases, calling it absurd.
