Directed by Pankaj Parashar, the film remains one of Sridevi’s career-defining performances and has been a subject of multiple remake discussions in Bollywood over the years.
Sources suggest that Janhvi Kapoor, who shares a deep emotional connection with her mother Sridevi’s films, is putting significant effort into portraying Sridevi’s iconic dual role. Industry insiders indicate that she is undertaking extensive groundwork to do justice to the character. An official announcement regarding the remake, including the director’s details, is expected by the end of September.
Previously, the project was planned as Chaalbaaz in London, with Shraddha Kapoor cast in the lead role and promotional material released, but the project was shelved midway. With Janhvi Kapoor now rumored to take on the role, the remake has once again become a hot topic.
