Malayalam actor Vinayakan, known for his role in Rajinikanth’s ‘Jailer’, was arrested by the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) police in Hyderabad on Saturday evening. Reports indicate that Vinayakan, who was reportedly inebriated, acted aggressively towards airline staff at the airport. The actor was traveling from Kochi to Goa with a layover in Hyderabad and allegedly confronted gate staff, which led to his transfer to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) by the airline personnel.
The RGIA police, following a complaint from the CISF, filed a case against Vinayakan, charging him with bailable offenses, including misconduct in public under the influence of alcohol and causing a public nuisance. This incident reportedly stemmed from Vinayakan’s behavior while intoxicated, resulting in law enforcement involvement.
Vinayakan, speaking to the media, alleged that CISF officers forcibly took him to a room at the airport and assaulted him. He stated, “I don’t understand why I’m being taken into custody. I have not done anything wrong. The authorities can check the CCTV visuals for evidence.” Earlier in October 2023, Vinayakan had been arrested by the Ernakulam Town North police for creating a disturbance at a police station during a family dispute but was later released on bail after a medical examination.
