YCP chief and former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who has been putting brave face even several MLCs, Municipal Corporators and former MLAs are leaving the party, is said to be unable to digest two Rajya Sabha members- Mopidevi Venkata Ramana and Beeda Mastan Rao resigning from the party.
He is said to be disturbed with the speculations that six more Rajya Sabha members are also ready to leave the party. In a damage-control move, he has been pleading with them not to leave the party. Fearing that he will not be taken seriously in New Delhi if he loses hold over his Rajya Sabha members, he has been stating that leaving him in the present uncertain scenario will amount to `back stabbing’ only.
He is more worried that leaders identified as his close associates like Mopidevi Venkata Ramana, who was given key roles by him, are taking the lead in deserting him. Pleading remaining MPs not to leave him, he has reportedly told them that he is respected in Delhi because of the strength of YCP in the Rajya Sabha.
Moreover, he is worried that if they resign from the party TDP can win all those seats in by-elections with its overwhelming majority in the state assembly. Responding to Jaganmohan Reddy pleas, two Rajya Sabha members- Ayodhya Rami Reddy and Subhash Chandra Bose came before the media on Friday and said they will continue in YCP only.
Ayodhya Ramireddy said that despite personal losses and difficulties, he is not leaving the YCP and resigning from the Rajya Sabha. Golla Baburao and Raghunatha Reddy also said that they will not leave the party. Subhash Chandra Bose revealed that it was due to suggestions from Jagan they are coming before the media to confirm their continuation in the party.
Meanwhile, Jaganmohan Reddy reached Pulivendula on Saturday to pay tributes to his father Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy at Idupulapaya Ghat on Monday, on his death anniversary. Later, on Tuesday he is leaving for London.
